MoFoto + Canon VIXIA HF S100

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

The Canon VIXIA HF S100 is an awesome small professional quality camcorder.  It uses a professional lens like the one found on the GL2, and it uses only SDHC cards to store the HD video.  This high quality video burns through memory like a drag racer burns through tires. This makes it a great pair for the MoFoto Portable Video Storage device.  When you buy a camcorder with such high quality HD, it would be a shame to turn down the quality.  With MoFoto, you can record literally DAYS of 1080P HD video.

We think that MoFoto is such a good match for the Canon VIXIA HF S100, that we'll give you free shipping on your MoFoto if you order your HF S100 using this link. Just send your order # to sales@momentadevices.com, and we'll send you a promotional code for free shipping on your MoFoto.

Return Policy

Sunday, March 29, 2009

We've had a few questions about return policies. We are working on the site structure to make this easier to find, but here is the direct link.

If you have a problem after the return policy expires, you are covered by our warranty. We will provide replacements for any components which fail within a year of purchase. We've considered offering an extended warranty for up to 3 years, but have not recieved much interest. Let us know if you want us to offer this.

We are always looking for feedback about our policies. If you think our policies don't meet your needs as our customer, please let us know and maybe there is something we can do for you.

How to use your MoFoto

So you just got your new MoFoto from momentadevices.com, and you are wondering how to use it. Here are the steps that you need to take.

#1. Put the battery into MoFoto. MoFoto ships with the battery removed from the device for safety.

#2. Charge MoFoto. Use the wall adapter or the usb cable, but let MoFoto charge for 6-8 hours. You may use MoFoto while it is plugged in.  The full battery capacity may not be reached until you have charged and discharged the battery a few times.

#3. Turn on MoFoto by pressing the center power button. You need to hold the button for about 2 seconds for MoFoto to actually turn on. This is to prevent MoFoto from accidentally turning on in you bag.

#4. Insert the memory card which you want to copy into the right slot. Each slot on MoFoto is labeled on the device, but here is a reference.
  • Right Side: SD, SDHC, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro
  • Top: Compact Flash, Micro Drive
  • Left Side: MiniSD, MS Duo
#5. The screen should show which type of card you have inserted. Now press the copy button to begin copying. MoFoto will display the status of the copy. Do not remove the card while MoFoto is copying.

#6. Once MoFoto shows 100% complete, remove the card, and put it back in your camera or camcorder. Use your camera or camcorder to format the memory card. Then start using the card again.

#7. When you get back to your computer, use the USB cable which came with MoFoto to connect your computer with MoFoto. Once connected, MoFoto will show up as another drive on your computer. If you are using MoFoto as temporary storage, you can copy all of the files off of MoFoto onto your computer. Or if you are using MoFoto as permenant storage, you can leave the pictures on MoFoto, and use your favorite photo software to edit and print your photos.
